Our Mission
Our mission is to deliver cutting-edge, evidence-based interventional mental health treatments in a safe and supportive clinical environment. By bringing together highly skilled clinical interventionalists and care practitioners, we aim to restore quality of life for individuals affected by PTSD/PTSI, anxiety and mood disorders. Each member of our team brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to ensure the well-being and comfort of our clients.
Dr. John Macdonald
Dr. John MacDonald is an anesthesiologist and intensivist. He proudly served 20 years in uniform with the Canadian Armed Forces, including roles as senior medical officer with JTF 2 and multiple overseas deployments as an anesthesiologist. He currently practises anesthesia at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa, ON. He is an integral member of the team who administers and oversees the dual sympathetic reset (DSR) procedures.

Dr. Jay Sheridan
Dr. Jay Sheridan is a primary care physician and sports medicine physician with special interest and expertise in ultrasound guided procedures. He has worked as a primary care physician, treating patients in the Canadian Special Operation Forces for more than 20 years. He is a lecturer at the University of Ottawa, and supports many of the local sports teams through his busy sports medicine practice at Carleton University. He is the president of Reset medical, and is helping coordinate the medical screening of patients, helping with data collection, and supporting the development of the health information system for Reset.
Dr. Sheridan has years of experience in managing patients with PTSD, has seen the toll this condition takes on military members, and their families, and is very passionate about developing and implementing innovative solutions in the management of PTSD, anxiety and mood disorders.

Tamara Wells
Tamara Wells is a physician assistant. She proudly served in the Canadian Armed Forces for 21 years, beginning her remarkable journey as a Medical Technician. She has multiple deployments to Afghanistan and has deployed to the Mediterranean. She furthered her passion for healthcare by earning a Bachelor of Science in Physician Assistant Studies from the University of Nebraska and has been practicing ever since. With extensive experience managing patients facing a wide range of mental health conditions, Tamara is particularly dedicated to supporting those with Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) and depression drawing on her expertise and compassion to make a meaningful difference in their lives.


Val McIlquham
Val McIlquham is a Registered Nurse, graduating from St Francis Xavier University in Nova Scotia, with a speciality in forensic nursing. She’s worked at the Queensway Carleton Hospital since 2018 and has been working in the emergency department for the last 6 years. She has an interest in working in remote areas dealing with marginalized populations, and has been doing northern nursing in an addition to working in emergency for the last 3 years. Experience with helping manage certain mental health conditions, in particular PTSD, has made Val passionate in being able to have a roll in helping those who find themselves dealing with this.

Amanda McLachlin
Amanda McLachlin is Registered Nurse with over 18 years of clinical experience, currently working in the Operating Room at Queensway Carleton Hospital in Ottawa, Ontario. Her nursing journey has taken her through a wide range of settings, including Medical-Surgical units, Emergency departments, Intensive Care Units, Travel Nursing assignments, and more. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of supporting patients and families through some of their most vulnerable moments. These experiences have deepened Amanda's understanding of the critical connection between physical and mental health.
